  1. I was running yesterday, in the rain, across the wet leaves, thinking: everyone writes of the glory of autumn, but is there goodness in the cold, wet, gray days? My ruminations again failed to form into a coherent thought (normal, as of late). Thanks for doing it for me.

    1. I absolutely love it when I read something that feels like my own thoughts, or what they would be, if I had a little more time to think. ๐Ÿ™‚

I discovered Mary Oliver much later than everyone else in the known universe, but I always felt that way about her work. (& I know, it’s not very chic or snobby-smart for me to like somebody who’s so popular and, ahem, “mainstream” … but I do.)

Glad you enjoyed. Stay dry out there! ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. I feel a great empathy with your beautiful writing although our styles are not alike. You are writing, I think, about your situation, emotions and how you interact with nature and the world, very personal. Whereas I write a story based on my observation of people and actions outwith my control. My latest offering is now at poetrywithian.wordpress.com. I hope you will enjoy it.

      1. So I just found myself reading my own reply and rolling my eyes. Blast you, autocorrect!! That should have read “loveliness,” not “loneliness.”

Geez. I would be the last person on the planet to wish you any of that!

  3. I went for a walk yesterday and was also spellbound by diamonds. Mine were a little different than yours, though, as we got frost that morning. So in addition to diamonds there were lace everywhere ๐Ÿ™‚
