Can I tell you a secret?
Over the past 24 hours, I’ve changed my phone number … and my legal name.
I’ve registered a new web domain, taken ((my own!)) professional headshot, and spent a lot of time brainstorming, scribbling, explaining and dreaming.
Let’s just say that there are **a lot** of changes in the works for me. And they’re good … (Yes, I am still married. No, I’m not running from the law.) … But change is also a little exhausting, too. Anyone who’s ever built something from scratch — or re-built something — knows what I mean.
I’ve got a lot of voices in my head, and the truth is … I need some quiet.
So I’m giving myself a challenge: every day for the next ten days, I’ll post a single, wordless photo in this space … one that I believe reflects quiet beauty.
This means no writing…
No quoting…
No words to speak of.
Just images, speaking softly, the way gentle images do.
For most of those ten days, I’ll be in southern Florida, drinking in the light, clearing the cobwebs from my head and making space for what’s next.
I may be quiet during this time, but please know: I am thinking of you. β€
Sounds good, me to will do the same

I hope you do! A little quiet is good for the soul now and then.
Happy Friday, fellow journeyer. π

Thank you for that … I absolutely plan to. Limiting my creative focus is often a fruitful thing for me, so I’m excited to see where it leads. π

Wow. It sounds like a tremendous upheaval, yet you *sound* very positive about it… I don’t know that I would cope so well with so many changes! Especially a name change. There is so much history and identity wrapped up in a name. I am thinking of you and sending my heart out to you. You have no idea the impact that you and your blog have had on reshaping that very same heart. I know that wherever your journey takes you, you will continue to make an amazing impact on the world, even if it is so quiet you don’t think it’s happening.

Lulu, how kind … Your words are so generous and life-giving.
I like change, but the last few months have contained so much of it that I can feel it wearing me a bit thin. I am okay with that for now, but I know I can’t sustain it forever. So. I’m trying to be thoughtful about self-care. Which is something I’ve always believed in, anyway. π
Thank you for being such a truthful, positive voice in this space — unafraid to talk about the hard stuff, but committed to the beauty, too. I love that. And I appreciate you. π Happy Weekend!!

Happy weekend, my friend! Your thoughtfulness about self care sounds like a wonderful respite from the tossing-about that is inevitable with any change, even the good kind! I am wishing you a peaceful and beautiful time to nurture yourself. β€οΈ

All the best to you. You will come out stronger and brighter…and that means much since I see you that way already. I enjoy silence…listen to it! It is also great that you will continue with you blog in silence. Hugs!

What kind words … Thank you! I’m actually excited about it. Sometimes putting certain boundaries on my creative spaces causes more fruit to beat there … At least that’s been my past experience.
Hope to see you here! π

I’d invite you over (I’m in Palm Beach County), but I know this may not be the time.
Hope you have a good, restful time and that the sun shines and it’s not too warm. π

Wow! That’s really a good thing. I think, I’ll go with you on the same thing as when it is quiet, it is also calm and there follows peace.
Of course, being quiet me devotes the mind to think more nicely and it is an easiest way to connect the soul to others.
I hope you may truly refresh your heart, body and soul as you get to comes back.
Good luck and enjoy yourself being stress free.

Change can be overwhelming! I like this idea you had, it’s better than just disappear and shut down (like I tend to do ;)) I can’t wait to know more about it – but in the meantime: enjoy your quiet time!

I loved all of your comments, Anthony. And the posts stand alone, too, so: I’m glad you responded without knowing the backstory. Even better that way. π
Thank you for your kindness, engagement and encouragement … So very much appreciated.

As I am going backwards on your posts, going back in time, I hope you have enjoyed your quiet time. Changed name? Really? You will always be Alpha Zulu to me.
Take care
Bravo Mike Oscar…

It’s so easy to change your name in the States … You just decide who you’d like to be, and then you become that person.
This one was a long time in coming, and it feels right. π

I find that flexibility interesting. Glad you like your new name. Are you still Alpha Whisky Fox? Or Romeo Juliet Tango? π
