oh God, open my eyes
to the magic of small things:
sunsetlight,
puddlesplash,
slow liquid gold …
scatter of leaves
on black ribbon of road …
bonewhite branches,
frost-sequined field,
frostcrunch,
snowshush …
my two knees’
twin prints
on holy ground.
❤
Love this! You’re amazing! ❤👍

I see maple leaves, for sure. Maybe beech. Could be a saucer magnolia in there. All different and adding to the texture of the experience.

Exactly. Couldn’t have said it better myself. 🙂
Hope you’re (still) enjoying the colors on your side of the mountain. 🙂

I love how your pictures are already sooooo amazing, but then your words give them depth that is not seen. Keep up the good work.

A long time back a photography mentor taught me not to take anything for granted, even the ground we walk on. There are some great subject there if you are observant.
You have obviously passed that lesson with flying colours.
Some great shots !! Well Done.

Thank you for that!!
It’s funny, but I spend a huge amount of time paying attention to the ground when I’m in the woods … Maybe a carryover from my childhood on the Great Dismal Swamp, where you had to watch the ground constantly for poisonous snakes. 🙂
By the way: I got a chance to check out your blog. Looking forward to knowing you better!
Enjoy your day. 🙂

I read this first without the benefit of the photographs. Despite the minimum use of words, the pictures you painted in my mind were as good if not better than the photographs you ueed. The work of a true poet without doubt!
