be still …

Noon.

I curl up on the down-filled sofa under the big bay window.  Watch the light flickering down through the limbs of the old oak:

noon3

There is nothing I must puzzle out here:  no meaning to decode.  No sign or symbol to deconstruct.

There’s just me, with the sun warm on my skin.

And the sun does not ask to be understood, or even accepted …  It simply shines the way it was meant to.

I lie very still — shining the way I was meant to:

noon1

For today, that’s enough.  ❤

  1. What is that… I do not how to say… what’s around your neck??? Ahah it looks like a chain to secure a bike! As usual… beautiful words by a beautiful woman. Nothing really to say about it other than I like it!

  2. AWF I can’t get enough of you. You write about the simplest of things and make it intriguing. There’s just me, with the sun warm on my skin. Loved this line. You have an unassuming way about you that makes you all the more beautiful. Then, you haunted me with: I lie very still — shining the way I was meant to: I loved that line. We aren’t born to be perfect, we are born to shine. So poetic your choice of words. but as if that wasn’t enough you added your mysterious photo in the perfect place. Covering one eye, the other shining brightly. Revealing so much beauty while hiding behind your fingers. For today that is enough. Amazing writing. I hope EVERYDAY that

  3. Sorry about that. Every time I come to your page I can’t complete my thoughts. Last time was the cat on my keyboard. But this time was my own clumsiness caused the error. Don’t know if it was your poetic words or your haunting photo. (Stunning pic). Love that you choose to do it in black and white. For today that’s enough. I hope you feel that way EVERYDAY. Your writing and photo are enchanting. Sorry, for the long message. One question before I go. What color are your eyes?

  4. “And the sun does not ask to be understood, or even accepted… It simply shines the way it was meant to.” That is very profound. I want to write it down and memorize it so I can repeat it to myself when I feel vulnerable, when I feel disingenuous and inauthentic. Thank you for giving me words that I can hold onto.
