Same Body, Second Glance: Day Thirty-Six

August 5, 2014

If there’s one thing I’ve learned over the past thirty-odd days, it’s that I can’t get enough of playing in the light:

It transforms everything it touches — erases, reveals, alters all the lines…

 When I’m standing in it, I see the world differently.  I see *myself* differently.  I’m fluid, capable of shapeshifting at a moment’s notice…

And I like that. ❤

{{Wondering what’s going on here??  Almost a year ago, I found myself on bad terms with the person in the mirror.  So I made a commitment:  every day for forty days, I’d take *one* photograph of my body that I could honestly see as beautiful.  Want to follow my journey?  Start here.}}

  1. Beautiful. I love this project, and hopefully someday I’ll be brave enough to have the same initiative you had for loving your body 🙂

    1. Thank you! I hope that for you, too. ❤ I can't tell you what a deeply moving experience it was to see myself through my *own* eyes, and to be deliberate about seeking beauty in my own form. I'm so glad to hear the project has encouraged you too. 🙂

    1. Indeed it is. The best subjects are flat and uninteresting without it, and even the most ordinary things can become almost transcendent within it. I am continually amazed by this, although I shouldn’t be… This life has a way of telling the truth about itself, doesn’t it? 🙂
